ABOUT
BUDDHAMAHAMETTA UK

History

Buddhamahametta UK was founded by a group of people with a diverse background but have the same kindred heart. They are inspired by true happiness, which they found after practicing meditation with the Buddhamahametta Foundation.

They realised that when the heart is full of sadness and sorrow; even having a successful business or wealth, these things wouldn’t be able to help finding the way out or the path to happiness. Some people lost the will to live. But after practicing meditation, their lives have changed entirely. Dhamma (teachings) of the Buddha brings them peace, love and kind-heartedness. They can understand and accept things as they really are, learn how to let go, and see the positive side of everything.

This inspired Mrs. Umaporn Wongwatanasin and her group to host the meditation courses since 2017. They share the same passion to pass this true happiness and great kindness on to others. They would like to play a little part to extend loving kindness and compassion to families, communities and eventually throughout the world.

In 2018, they invited Venerable Kittiched Premsakul and Venerable Nattapon Teranupattana and his group to conduct meditation courses in London. Many people understood more Dhamma including Mrs. Sunetra Murphy and Mr Pannajate Rodjanachaowopads who have their own businesses in London. After attended the course, they can realise the true happiness and the pure loving kindness; this makes each of them want to be a better person. They kept coming back to the course till the last day. At the end of the course, they decided that they would like to invite Venerable Kittiched Premsakul and Venerable Nattapon Teranupattana and his group to come back again in 2019.

Throughout the planning and preparation time, they had faced various kinds of challenges and from time to time they had a feeling of giving up; however, because of their faith and their determination to share the true happiness to others, it helped them carry on and worked tirelessly to make the course succeed. Eventually the course in London happened in May 2019. There were more than 200 people, including Thai and English people, attending the course. So many people had a smile on their faces and can let go of worry. Those feeling unwell before recovered after practicing meditation and one person can now let go of her thoughts of hurting herself. This has inspired all the hosts to set up Buddhamahametta UK as they are determined to continue helping others in UK find the path to peace and true happiness.
